Belward Beagles is a labor of love for Dr. Mary Ann Meli and a family friend, Walter Lewis.  This love of the breed was acquired through long-time Beagle ownership.  Showing Beagles in AKC Conformation events is a hobby that allows for a showcase of the quality of the puppies, and ultimately, the dogs that they breed.  They do very limited breeding, and occasionally have puppies for sale.  Puppies sold are always family pets, and many also compete for AKC Titles.
